Parent Guide

Parents Are Part of the Team.

A positive basketball experience starts with all of us. Brighton Boys Basketball depends on a strong partnership between players, coaches, and families.

Our partnership

How we work together

We believe parents play an essential role in helping children enjoy basketball, develop confidence, and learn valuable life lessons.

Parent Expectations

We ask all parents to support players positively, respect coaches and officials, encourage sportsmanship, and help maintain a constructive basketball environment.

Playing Time

Travel basketball is competitive, and equal playing time is not guaranteed. Playing time may vary based on effort, attendance, attitude, preparation, performance, team needs, and game situations.

Attendance & Commitment

Players are expected to attend practices and games consistently. Families should communicate scheduling conflicts to coaches as early as possible.

Communication

Basketball-related concerns should first be discussed with the team's coach at an appropriate time. Please wait at least 24 hours after games before raising nonurgent concerns. Safety concerns should be reported immediately.

Sportsmanship

We expect respectful conduct toward players, coaches, officials, opponents, and other spectators. Disrespectful or abusive behavior is not acceptable.

Player Safety

Coaches and volunteers will be subject to applicable screening and safety requirements. Families will receive information about injury reporting, emergency contacts, and program policies.
