Tryout FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does every player make a team?

No. Travel basketball uses competitive roster selection.

Can there be more than one team per grade?

Yes, if participation, player ability, coaching, facilities, and league opportunities support an additional team.

How many players are selected?

Most teams are expected to carry approximately 9–11 players, depending on team needs.

Are returning players guaranteed a spot?

No. Each season is evaluated independently.

What happens if my child does not make the team?

We encourage continued basketball development and participation in other available basketball opportunities. BBYB plans to expand its development programs in future seasons.
