Travel Basketball
Compete for Brighton.
Competitive basketball. Strong fundamentals. One team. Brighton Boys Basketball provides a competitive travel experience for boys in grades 3–9, competing against programs throughout the Rochester region.
For players ready to make a greater commitment.
Unlike recreational basketball, travel teams are selected through competitive evaluations and participate in organized league games and tournaments.
Players should be prepared to attend regular practices, work on their skills outside of team activities, and compete as part of a team.
What to expect
- Competitive team selection
- Approximately 9–11 players per roster
- Regular practices throughout the season
- GRAB League participation where eligible
- Two to three tournaments per team
- Games against other Rochester-area communities
- Consistent coaching and development expectations
- Team uniforms and Brighton program identity
Strong players. Strong teammates.
We believe competitive basketball and player development should work together. Our coaches strive to develop every rostered player while teaching athletes to compete, work hard, make good decisions, and contribute to team success.
About playing time
Playing time is not guaranteed to be equal. Coaches make decisions based on preparation, attendance, effort, attitude, performance, and game situations.
2026–27 at a glance
For 2026–27, BBYB plans to begin with one competitive team per grade. Additional teams may be considered when there are enough qualified players, available coaches, appropriate competition, and sufficient facilities.
